Dark Maze Exploration

Explore a dark maze full of traps and monsters. Fight feelings of claustrophobia and depression as you work your way through to the end in this virtual reality puzzle game.

Simple and Short

The game places you in a grim setting, rendered out in simplistic graphics. The graphics aren't an issues, however, since everything is so dark and foreboding. The aim is to get through the maze alive, and you'll be given some tools to help you along your way in the form of a flash light and a special "sixth sense" that renders the maze translucent. Unfortunately, the game is very short and suffers some bugs. Many people have reported loading the game and immediately finding themselves falling through the game world. Additionally, walking is painfully slow. There is no save function in DarkMaze, meaning a slip up will take you back to the beginning to start all over. This is especially frustrating when you have spent five minutes simply climbing a spiral staircase because the controls can be difficult.

Not Quite Ready

In general, DarkMaze gives off a vibe of being unfinished, and feels a little more like a virtual reality tech demo than a fully fleshed out game. This could make the price point a little difficult to swallow for some gamers.

PROS

  • Interesting concept
  • Effective atmosphere

CONS

  • No save feature
  • Feels unfinished
